Q. What exactly is Joint Venture Publishing?  A. Joint venture publishing is not new. You've heard of self-publishing, right? You've also heard of print-on-demand, too? Too often when an Author self-publishes well or executes print-on-demand well there are still gaping holes in the marketing of their book. WTR's Joint Venture Publishing program combines the best of both worlds by partnering with deserving Authors in the publication of their book. This results in a professionally published and marketable book that reaches the masses by exercising all of our marketing strength to sell and keep selling your book.

Q. Does WTR's Joint Venture Program require that all I do is pay money and you guys do all the work?  A. No. Contracted Authors are required provide a completed manuscript. No exceptions. Authors are also required to write summaries of their book and participate in the selection of a cover. You will also be required to develop a social network personally about your book. You can blog about your adventures in publishing or writing. This only helps our mutual marketing efforts. We've found that Authors who are 100% behind their own work are a joy to work with.

Q. I have a vision for my book cover. Why can't I have the final say?  A. A contracted Author's suggestions are always welcomed and encouraged. However, our Marketing Team has one goal in mind; to get your book sold. Many well-meaning Authors who envision grandmother's hand-made prom dress gracing their cover as a way of paying omage to her memory have found themselves stuck with 125 copies of a book in the print-on-demand world. What's worse? The book title is Ivy Green and potential purchasers are left wondering what's the connection? We see this often with self-publishers; pictures of landscapes, hot air balloon rides, poorly hand-drawn faces and pets and titles that cause even more cconfusion. Our Marketing Team is prepared to select the cover design that impacts a potential purchaser even before they pick your book up. Our goal is to make them reach for it, not move it aside for something more interesting.

Q. How much does WTR Publishing pay in royalties?  A. Your royalty is a standard 25% of the retail price. A quarterly report will be sent to you along with your royalty itemizing all of the venues that currently carry your book and the sales reported. Authors are encouraged to purchase copies using their discount. We also encourage you to make deals with local book sellers on your own which can singnificantly increase your profit potenial. All contracted Authors will receive instructions/tips on how to make deals with your local bookseller.

Q. Like this lady Valorie Taylor, I have multiple books. Can I submit them all at once?   A. That lady Valorie Taylor has been working with us for the last year. We welcome multiple submissions, however, we don't guarantee that we will offer contracts for each of your submissions. Like that Valorie Taylor didn, submit your best work first. Please let us know if you have other works. True success in the literary world doesn't just depend on if you captured the public's attention, but how many times you did it.

Q. What are you going to do in the evaluation that I paid $49 for?  A.  We are going to determine if your book is marketable. No book is perfect. But some books are close enough to perfection to warrant throwing our professional muscle into. It's possible that you'll find some writing on your first 50 pages although we will do our best not to. You will receive a 1-page evaluation sheet that will highlight all the things you've done right and explain the few things that may need correcting.

Q. If my book needs major correcting I probably won't be offered a contract, huh?  A. Not necessarily. It's important to note that once corrections are made, publishing success can be achieved. It's going to take us and you working together.

Q. I read that there is an expiration date on the offer of the contract. Is that true?  A. Yes. Our Marketing Team and our Evaluator choose only a certain number of Authors to contract per genre. The brainstorming sessions and passion for the work begin to lose their feasibility as time drags on. Therefore, if an Author recognizes this opportunity as a good one, then that's the Author we want to work with; someone decisive and prepared.

Q. I want to do it, but when I added up the fees...whew! Can I make monthly payments? A. Yes. All Contracted Authors are given the option of making monthly payments, usually up to six. However, a minimum of $100 must accompany your signed and accepted contract to publish.

Q. What if I miss my 2nd or 3rd monthly installment?  A. We're usually pretty flexible. However, you should keep in mind that we are publishing company and we manifest a scheduled book release that our readers/buyers rely on.
